Gian Pier Benghi Cancino has joined Aquatiq Chile as general manager of its newly established office in the port city of Puerto Montt.
Cancino, 40, comes from a senior position at Salmones Camanchaca.
He is educated in aquaculture and has 14 years of experience from the salmon industry, said Aquatiq Chile in a statement.
During those years, he acquired a lot of knowledge about fish production, standardization processes and system improvement with Chile’s major salmon producers, including AquaChile, Ventisqueros and Multi X.
“I feel very happy and eager to meet this new challenge at Aquatiq as it is a leading company in food safety with worldwide experience,” says Cancino.
Aquatiq COO Steinar Ege says he is very pleased to have Cancino on the team. “Gian Pier was just the ‘captain’ we were looking for, and together with him we want to build a strong team in Chile.”
Aquatiq is a specialist in food safety covering all production areas in the salmon industry. It operates in Norway, where it is headquartered, and has presence in Denmark, Scotland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and the United States.
