Dawnfresh ends the year in the red but company will see “signficant investment.”
The company – the largest global supplier of Scottish Loch Trout – posted its yearly results in a report ended 25th March 2018.
It’s UK customers include the country’s major retailers and food service companies, as well as the Royal Household. Dawnfresh has eight fish farms and hatcheries in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Dawnfresh said that despite improvements to infrastructure, reported losses remained similar to the previous year, improving slightly from GPB 7.7 million to GPB 7.4 million.
The loss was attributed to “customer mix changes in UK retail.”
The company – which is owned by the billionaire businessman Alastair Salvesen and members of his family – said that its processing facilties will see significant investment to increase capacity in smoked products and other “ready to eat” products.
The company recently added another director, Rachel Claire Mcevoy on the 18th of September 2018.
Mcevoy’s Linkedin shows that in April 2018 she took up the role of Business Unit Director – Marks and Spencer with Dawnfresh; before that she was commercial controller for convenience food company, Greencore.
