Benchmark Animal Health has appointed a former Scottish Salmon Company senior biologist to be its new regional technical services manager, it was learned Monday.

Harry Tziouvas sill support producers in the field with advice and knowledge about Benchmark’s approach to health management in aquaculture, the company said. Benchmark’s approach is a combination of genetics, nutrition, fish health and service.

“Harry brings to Benchmark years of both scientific and farm-based aquaculture experience,” a statement said.

Tziouvas holds a MSc in Aquatic Photobiology from the University of Stirling and a BSc in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management from the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece. He is fluent in Greek and English.

He’ll need both. From his post overseeing marine and freshwater sites in Northern Scotland, Tziouvas heads to Athens to cover The Mediterranean for Benchmark clients.
