Sickness hits 26 salmon workers

Symptoms included headaches, dizziness and vomiting.

BioBio Chile reports that 26 Invermar workers had to be transferred to different care facilities on Sunday afternoon in the Los Lagos region, Southern Chile.

Those affected had symptoms such as headache, dizziness and vomiting and were tested for COVID. A food-transmitted disease is suspected, though symptoms are equally attributable to coronavirus.

Some were were transferred to the Dr. Augusto Riffart Hospital in Castro, as their “condition was more complex”, the publication reported.

Authorites are investigating.
