Military watercraft collides with mooring system.

A Norwegian Navy submarine hit a salmon farm’s mooring system on Wednesday.

The collision resulted in cut rope at a Kleiva Fiskefarm site in Andørja, Northern Norway, reports VG.

“The initial assessment indicates that there are no injuries to the submarine or personnel on board, and when this happened, the submarine immediately reported it and we contacted the salmon farm owner,” Ivar Moen, spokesperson at the Norwegian Navy’s operational headquarters told the newspaper.

Marius Arvesen, managing director of Kleiva Fiskefarm, confirmed to VG that there was an issue with mooring, but there was “no drama”.

“A service vessel that has corrected the damage and the situation is under control,” he said.

The Norwegian Navy would not yet speculate on what caused the collision.
