Lerøy recalls sushi products over metal contamination risk

Lerøy is recalling three sushi products due to the potential presence of metal fragments, Norway’s Food Safety Authority (Mattilsynet) confirmed on Tuesday.

The affected products were sold at Meny and Narvesen outlets in Eastern Norway and were produced on 5 April, with a use-by date of 9 April.

“Consumers are advised to discard the product or return it to the store,” Mattilsynet said in a press release. “Metal fragments may cause internal injuries to the gastrointestinal system.”

The recall affects only the specified batch and is precautionary.
