The Norwegian Gannet, a “game-changer” for farm-to-market logistics, takes shape at Balenciaga Shipyard in northern Spain.
Hav Line’s fish-transport and factory vessel Norwegian Gannet is on-track for delivery in July 2018.
It’s on course for it’s a fourth-quarter operational debut as fish-farm export enabler. The Wartsila design will gather fish from Norwegian pens, slaughter them onboard and drive them out of the country.
“It’s a little early for questions about detail,” Hav Line Group chief executive, Carl-Erik Arnesen told SalmonBusiness. He confirmed the new-build will be 94 meters long, 18 m wide and will weigh in at 4,000 tonnes.
When at full capacity, some 30 crew and 10 other hands will work onboard a vessel that will deliver gutted and fish to market in Denmark.
