Troubled Nova Austral has 2020 guidance raised

Chilean Salmon farmer rocked by data rigging scandal with restrictions put in place by authorities.

For the salmon-farming company located on the far southern tip of Chile, half-owned by private equity giant Bain Capital, this year has been plagued by resignations and scandals.

However, DF reports that things may be looking up as Subpesca has authorised it to harvest 18 thousand tonnes at the end of 2020, higher than the 15 thousand limit imposed at the beginning of September.

In July, an investigative piece by the news site El Mostrador entitled “Salmon Leaks” alleged that Nova Austral’s area managers were given instructions are given to manipulate salmon mortality statistics presented to the country’s auditing authority.
