A Tsunami warning for British Columbia and the whole of the Pacific Northwest coast has been cancelled, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has announced.

The official cancellation of a stream of “threat messages” from the Center came at 12:10 European Central Time. The messages had run throughout the early morning, Pacific Time.

With millions of lives potentially under threat, SalmonBusiness relayed the message to our readers as soon as we were informed.

As well as lives, many livelihoods in the province depend on the 98,200 tonnes of farmed and processed salmon exported to the United States from the province (2016).
