United Airlines to launch direct flight route between Bergen and New York

First flight is May 22nd.

An announcement from Avinor on Friday states that the American airgiant United Airlines is setting up a new flight route between Bergen, Norway, and Newark.

Newark, New Jersey, well known from the Sopranos series, is a short drive from New York City.

In addition to frequent tourist traffic and business travelers, it is expected that the cargo holds on United Airlines planes will be filled with salmon, which today are often sent to the USA via Oslo Airport Gardermoen or other European airports.

The first flight on the non-stop route from Flesland Airport is 22 May. United Airlines will then be the only airline that offers direct flights from Bergen to New York.
