Vaxxinova appoints former Benchmark Genetics Chile CEO for global cold-water aquaculture business

Vaxxinova International announces Dr. Matias del Campo will be starting June 1.

In a press release, international biotech company Vaxxinova writes that Dr Matias will be responsible for the global cold-water aquaculture business, i.e the Managing Director for Vaxxinova Norway and Vaxxinova Chile.

Matias is an aquaculture engineer from the University Andres Bello in Chile and holds a PhD in Aquaculture at the University of Stirling, UK and has 20 years of experience in the aquaculture industry.

Matias had several senior management positions in both Chilean and international science & technology-based companies. He was CEO for Aquainnovo and ATC Patagonia which then evolved into CEO for Benchmark Genetics Chile, a role he has held since 2018.

Vaxxinova Norway and Vaxxinova Chile belong to Vaxxinova International, which is part of the family-owned EW Group

“Vaxxinova Norway is dedicated to provide solutions for the major challenges on the Norwegian market but will also extend its scope of activity to provide effective biological preventive solutions to the Aquaculture industry in Europe, Canada and Chile. The team will be fully focused on the strategic R&D pipeline and novel vaccine products targeting the major disease challenges in cold-water species globally,” said CEO Vaxxinova International Victor van Solinge.
