Waitrose has appointed Sarah Hussey as its new Fisheries & Aquaculture Manager, where she will oversee responsible sourcing compliance across the retailer’s seafood supply chains.
Hussey joins Waitrose from Seafresh Group, where she spent over seven years in responsible sourcing roles, most recently as Seafood Responsible Sourcing Manager.
During her tenure, she worked on wild-caught and farmed supply chain compliance, fishery improvement projects, and ethical standards in fishing and aquaculture.
She also served as Co-Chair of the Global Squid Supply Chain Roundtable and a Steering Group member of the Sustainable Seafood Coalition.
In addition to her industry experience, Hussey has held a Board Trustee role at the Living River Foundation since 2019, contributing to efforts to monitor and improve the Thames and Medway rivers.
Her appointment comes as Waitrose continues to position itself as a leader in responsible seafood sourcing, with a focus on sustainability, transparency, and ethical practices across its supply chains.
