Retail giant announced it would be hiring more than 150,000 new associates by the end of May.

In a press release, Walmart writes that its recruitment blitz is continuing in the light of the coronavirus with an additional call out to hire 50,000 more people, bringing the number now to 200,000.

“Hiring will be across our stores, clubs, fulfilment and distribution centres, but this won’t be a one-size-fits-all approach,” said Walmart EVP and Chief People Officer Donna Morris.

“These hires will primarily be temporary associates and will support our current associates and customers in locations with specific needs,” she added.

Walmart is the second-largest supermarket chain selling salmon after Costco.
