The Finnish industrial group is experiencing difficulties in carrying out service activities.

“The markets in which Wärtsilä operates have been more affected by the coronavirus outbreak and the measures taken to control the pandemic across the globe,” said a statement according to E24.

Wärtsilä writes that the order intake and invoicing have developed in line with expectations in January and February, but an intensification of the restrictions has affected the company’s delivery plan and ability to perform service activities.

In addition, the company expects deteriorating macroeconomic conditions and the effects of covid-19 will affect customers’ operations, which will lead to a fall in demand for Wärtsilä’s solutions and services, it states.

Wärtsilä supplies industrial solutions for advanced vessels and rigs. The customer list includes the owner of the cargo boat “Norwegian Gannet”.
