Who is proposed new Mowi chairman Ørjan Svanevik?

Following the announcement of Ole-Eirik Lerøy’s resignation as Chairman of Mowi, Ørjan Svanevik has been proposed as his successor.

Ørjan Svanevik, the proposed new Chairman of Mowi is a seasoned business executive with extensive experience across industries, previously serving as a non-executive board member at Marine Harvest (Mowi’s former name), before stepping down in 2017.

Svanevik has held high-level roles including CEO of Arendals Fossekompani and COO at Seatankers Management. His career spans leadership in mergers and acquisitions at Aker ASA, and operational positions at Kværner and Aker Solutions. Svanevik’s expertise extends to board memberships, including roles at NorgesGruppen, Volue ASA, and Seadrill.

Svanevik founded Oavik Capital in 2008, specializing in private equity, and his experience managing large-scale industrial companies has made him a key figure in Norwegian corporate circles. He holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, an advanced management program (AMP) degree from Harvard, and a “Siviløkonom” degree from BI Norwegian Business School.

His leadership track record includes steering companies through periods of growth and transformation, as well as his involvement in shaping sustainable business strategies. If appointed, Svanevik will bring a wealth of experience in corporate governance, investment, and sustainability to his new role at Mowi.
