Worker died as a result of a wellboat fire at shipyard Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted on Tuesday.
On Wednesday morning, the newspaper Sunnhordland reported that a person with a worker hired with FMV has now died.
“We confirm that a person has died as a result of the incident. We do not want to say anything more at this time,” FMV CFO Hrafn Throsteinsson told the publication.
The local police’s office confirmed the death and said that next of kin have been notified.
“It is clear that this is a serious matter, a work accident in which someone dies. This is a sign of the case, and we are now working to find out what is behind it and why this has happened,” investigation leader Roald Raunholm told Sunnhordland.
