On October 01, at about 14:33, a distress call was received from the captain of the motorboat “Poderosso II” for assistance to help a seafood diver who was in an unconscious state, the result of a serious fall when he was aboard the boat at an AquaChile salmon farming site called Lagrezze.
Paramedical staff then went to the ship to provide urgent medical care.
But once onboard, medical personnel realised the “extreme gravity condition of the accident”, and tried to resuscitate the victim to no avail. Once the vessel was at the near-by port of Melinka, an on-duty physician confirmed the man’s death.
