Young’s CEO steps down as director

Bill Showalter leaves the role.

Michael Kestemont has been appointed as the new Director of Young’s Seafood, after the company posted a new filing on Companies House on Tuesday.

Kestemont is Karro’s Chief Financial Officer. The UK pork processor bought Britain’s largest seafood business early in July.

Young’s Seafood will now become part of a multi-protein food group after Karro Food Group snapped up the company for between GBP 170m and GBP 200m. CapVest has owned Karro since March 2017.

According to Karro’s own site, Kestemont has over 6 years of experience in the pork industry and played a key role in he creation of Karro Foods Group Limited. He previously worked as a consultant, supporting strategic change and turnaround projects across multiple industries.

Showalter still remains as Young’s CEO, a role which he has held since taking over from James Hill in 2015.
