On Saturday, Sølvtrans was handed over the vessel “Ronjafisk” from Aas Mek. Verksted. The day before, the parties signed contracts worth EUR 70 million for the delivery of two more new wellboats.

This was reported by both Nett.no and Sunnmørsposten.

The two new wellboats, which will have a capacity of 3,000m3 , will have the same design as “Ronjafisk” and will be delivered in 2022. Sølvtrans also has another wellboat under construction at Aas Mek. Verksted, which is scheduled to be completed in November 2020.

“We really appreciate this confidence, and the contracts give us work until well into 2022. We have never had such a long perspective,” said Halvard Aas at Aas Mek. Verksted to Sunnmørsposten.

Last weekend, “Ronja Islander” was baptized in Ålesund, Western Norway. It will serve Grieg Seafood salmon farming facilities in Canada.

At the beginning of this month, Sølvtrans also took over an unfinished “Ronja Storm” from Havyard. The world’s largest wellboat is on its way to Tasmania, where it will be put to work for Huon Aquaculture.
