Former 2 Sisters exec joins Dawnfresh as MD

Veteran William Duncanson – who last was running 2 Sisters’ Cavaghan & Gray meals plant – was also the former managing director of UK smokers Farne Salmon & Trout and Pinneys.

Undercurrrent reports that UK trout farmer and processor Dawnfresh Seafoods has hired a new managing director from 2 Sisters Food Group.

In a filing to companies house, site directors Garry Price (former Young’s Seafood) and Stephen Lamb have also been appointed as directors. Former MD Andrew Cooksey joined Dawnfresh in 2013 and was the former MD of Greencel – a UK fruit and vegetable supplier.

In January, Dawnfresh ended the year in the red but the company saod that it would make a “significant investment” towards an expansion plan.

At the time, the company – which is owned by the billionaire businessman Alastair Salvesen and members of his family – said that its processing facilities will see significant investment to increase capacity in smoked products and other “ready to eat” products.
