Nicolás Larco officially appointed new CEO of Nova Austral

The Chilean salmon farmer Nova Austral has appointed a new CEO. CFO Nicolás Larco has been running the company since October 2019 but is now officially the new boss of the company. Until further notice, he will also remain chief financial officer. 

The former COO Francisco Miranda sustained a serious head injury in an October 2019 horse-riding accident, and since then Nicolás Larco has been running the every-day business. The company states they are still providing help for Fransisco Miranda and hopes he will recover and rejoin the company.

Nova Austral also announces that they are reinforcing their administrative structure and hiring executives with capacity in different areas. Anton Felmer assumes on an interim basis the role as a Senior Vice President of Operations of the company, where he will focus on sales & marketing as well as selected operational initiatives. Before Felmer has worked for over eight years in the salmon industry, seeking investment opportunities in aquaculture in Chile and the region for AquaChile.

Furthermore, Ricardo Ferrari, former M&A & Investments Associate Manager at the Chilean retailer Cencosud, will take over as the new Director of Business Development. Ricardo Ferrari, MBA is educated at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth (USA) and will lead the company’s business development and corporate finance-related projects.
